Trailer Information
Opening Trailer:
1. Loosen tongue lock
bolts (2 each)
Pull Pins (2 each)
Chock Wheels On Trailer
Pullout tongue till it stops
Put pins in (2 each)
Tighten lock bolts (2 each)
2. Set up "A" frame and
jack up tail of 18 to level.
3. With trailer "open"
put trailer all the way under the 18
4. Lift up the LH side
and remove landing gear. Install truss & short
drag leg.
5. Bolt heads to the RH
side, pointing left.
6. Lower left side down
on lowered floor jack. NOTE: The truss is
installed with my hinge bolts. You MUST put 1/4 bolts thru the truss
and the hinge bolt.
7. Lift up right side
and remove landing gear. Install truss and short
drag leg. Both heads to the RH side pointing left. NOTE: Same on
the LH side on truss.
8. Now SLOWLY lift the
right side to about 12 -14ft up
9. Now that you set the
fixture on the trailer tongue and slide it back
under the airplane. Put the fixture lock down bolts In (NO nuts or
washers at this time.)
10. When the fixture
(lower side) is opposite from the floor jack and
the lower side gear truss, you just pick up a little more on the high
side and the lower side should move into the lower fixture.
11. Align the upper
side into the fixture.
12. Install your lower
side all thread clamps and the same on the
upper side. This is where you will need your ladder.
13. Now hook a cable
come-a-long on the fixture and the other end
on the front of the trailer so you can pull the airplane back Into the
notch on the left side of the trailer. Leave about 1 to 2 Inch
clearance at the wing and the rear of the notch.
14. Install the nuts
and washer on the fixture to trailer tongue. The
nuts should be snug tight and install the safety pins.
15. Put together the
fuselage rack install wood and carpet slide
under the fuselage and let the tall of the airplane down.
16. Mount engines,
tail, wings, and all tools and equipment under
airframe, on the trailer.
17. Put flags on the
widest points of the load. Wide load signs
MUST be posted on front and rear of load also on your escort .car.
To Close Trailer:
Reverse the information above. After you "open" or "close" trailer be
sure to hook up electrical for lights and brakes.
